It seems that the electronic reading devices like the Kindle 2 have begun to appear more often. And if Amazon’s new Kindle somehow disappointed you, take a look at what the competition will be bringing in on June 1. The SV-100B E-paper from Brother Industries has a good name, being as large as an A5 piece of paper. Thanks to it’s size, it is ideal for reading documents on it’s 1200×825 display and I think that if you work in a company and need to read many reports, it would be a very good bet. And also, whatever you have to read, no matter the format, the files will be converted automatically to be read onscreen.
Although it packs a pretty generous work area, the SV-100B E-paper is only 1.5cm thick so that you won’t be bothered in any way by it’s size. If you need some security for your documents you can use a 2GB microSD card, enabling you to encrypt the data and also store the equivalent of 10,000 A4-size papers. Neat huh ?
Another good thing is that with the E-paper you won’t have to worry about running out of juice for it’s lithium-ion battery will be lasting up to 83 hours. That’s 5,000 pages at a reading rate of one page per minute.
The E-paper doesn’t have a definite price tag put on it, but it will probably be sold at around $1,423 on Brother’s online store.
