The Logitech Alert 750i security camera – watch your home from anywhere

Post filled in: Hardware, News, Peripherals

The video security market is generally characterized by expensive and low quality hardware. We’ve all seen various footage of burglars or whatnot caught on tape and then broadcast on TV – they’re almost all at low pixels and frame rate. The last Logitech Alert system from the famous peripherals manufacturer is on a mission to change this by providing HD very powerful security cameras targeted to small businesses and general consumers (an overfed watch dog isn’t enough these days) at a more than reasonable price.
The Logitech Alert system, namely the Logitech Alert 750i Master System and its waterproof model, the Logitech Alert 750e Outdoor Master System, feature some impressive specs like motion-triggered built-in DVR, 130-degree wide-angle lens, 720p video, high quality night vision, but what’s maybe most impressive is its ability to stream whatever it’s capturing live from anywhere around the web. You can be at work or on vacation in Europe and, at the same time, decide to check out what’s around the house at that moment or at a by-choice recorded time frame via the web, your mobile or even TV.
The set-up is plug and play – very straightforward. Also, if you’re into Big Brother you can display up to 6 views at the same time, in concert. They also come with 2GB MicroSD storage, which is enough to capture up to a week of video.
How much does it cost? The Logitech Alert costs $299.99 for the 750i and $349.99 for the 750e, while you’ll probably end up paying an additional $80/year for the Logitech Alert Web and Mobile Commander.
