MIT tests quick-charging batteries

Post filled in: Misc

Ok, let me tell you that those guys at the MIT are preparing something very very interesting and kudos to them. They developed a new technology so that lithium batteries can be charged in a matter of seconds (10-20 seconds)! And since we’re talking about lithium batteries, you can surely guess where they will be found: mobile phones, laptops, PDAs, Ipods and the like. It’s even possible to adapt it to be used in car batteries, but that’s another issue. The said batteries will also be smaller and lighter, another advantage. Tests are being conducted at the moment, but if it all goes well, we could see the new batteries in a couple of years.
