I know you’re aware of the presence of CFL or LED lightbulbs. These are very good, but what if something even better will appear ? Researchers from Cambridge University have nearly completed a LED bulb that can last as lons as 60 years. The said bulb contains no mercury and thus the researchers beliveve that carbon emissions can be reduced. Also, production has been cheaped by using silicon wafers instead of the sapphire used normally and this will bring the cost down to nearly $3. The bad news is that no date has been announced for the official release of this miraculous LED bulb except for “sometime soon”.
