iRiver Phone: the big surprize from CES 2008

Without a doubt one of the biggest surprise from CES 2008 is the apparition of a mobile phone from behalf of iRiver, the well known MP3 and PMPs producer. The design is inspired after the notorious Apple iPhone, but the iRiver proposed gadget differences itself at the hardware level.

The iRiver phone has a 3 inch touchscreen and 480 x 272 worth of resolution, Linux operating system, 4 GB storage capacity, Adobe Flash and a 2 MP camera. In addition to the iPhone, worth mentioning is the incorporated GPS receiver and the mobile TV support.
It’s not yet exactly known what types of connectivities it possesses, Wi-Fi and/or 3G and neither in what networks it will function; hopefully in all. For now, “iRiver Phone” head towards the American continent. According to a iRiver official, the phone’s price will be a lot more attractive, compared to the iPhone.
