Post filled in: Cellphones

The American mobile phone operator, Sprint, has the chance to get popular among Europeans as well. Among the last Sprint offers we can find the Samsung Ace smartphone which, although bares the mentioned brand, functions without any hassle in GSM networks around Europe as well. The only impediment is that concerning Internet access, which can be made only the Spring network, via EV-DO.

Design-wise, Samsung Ace resembles Samsung phones from the BlackJack series, but has a much larger processor, then the BlackJack (TI OMAP 220 MHz) and BlackJack II (TI OMAP 260 MHz), namely a Intel XScale that can reach frequencies as high as 416 MHz.

The software on the Samsung Ace is represented by the Windows Mobile 6 Standard operating system and other afferent applications. Also, Sprint has added a few new programs such as SprintTV, Sprint On Demand, Microsoft Voice Command and other utilities (converter, calculator etc).

Samsung Ace can be bought from Spring shops for about 200$, for a two year contract. AS a bonus, you get a 100$ coupon, meaning 50% of the phone’s value. Sounds like a bargain for me.
