Saudi Arabia officially banned RIM

Wed, Aug 4, 2010

Post filled in: Cellphones, Mobile, News

Due to “not meet[ing] regulatory requirements,”  BlackBerry services are to be stopped on Friday in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi state took the decision to ban some of the services available on a BlackBerry handset such as sending e-mails, browsing internet or instant messaging between BlackBerry devices.

The state isn’t getting along with the idea that they can’t monitor the communications between the 700000  BlacBerry devices used in Saudi Arabia as the handset automatically sends encrypted information to servers overseas .

United Arab Emirates announced to ban RIM services starting October 11 if negotiations with RIM for bringing  BlackBerry  to UAE telecommunication regulations do not get to an end. India also has a similar security problem in monitoring BlackBerry services.
