Looks like Saudi Arabia is not the only one to ban BlackBerry, United Arab Emirates ultimatum(October 11) and India’s warning encouraged other states to step in threatening with banning Blackberry. These threats and rumors have a major impact over Research in Motion, only Indonesia declaration of joining the Arab states in their movement to restrict BlackBerry services , made RIM shares to drop 3.9% from $55.55 on Wednesday in New York trading. Kuwait, Egypt and India are worried about the same security problems involving RIM servers located outside these countries and the inability of the authorities to control the communication between BlackBerry devices. Research in motion now has a big decision to make. Not loosening privacy and security on BlackBerry to please some states telecom regulations may lead to loosing an important market segment, but conforming to these regulations can also lead to sales drop as BlackBerries are known for their communication security so vital to businessmen. Business segment being an important client for BlackBerry .
