Post filled in: desktops

This new beast from lined up from HP packs quite a punch. The latest in the HP Workstations series will now be equipped with the incredibly sought after Six-Core AMD Opteron 2400 processors, which will undoubtedly satisfy any need an engineer or 3D artists might have, not to mention gamers. It’s built in such a way that it guarantees it won’t freeze when subjected to over multi tasking or to high resource comsuming applications, simply because it has a shit load of resources to spare. How so? The HP xw9400 Workstation is able to hold up to a pair of Six-Core AMD Opteron processors, giving you a grand total of a dozen cores!

Add that to the introduction of AMD HyperTransport 3.0 technology (HT3), which increases interconnect rates from 2 gigatransfers per second (GT/s) up to a maximum 4.8 GT/s, while you can further augment its performance by throwing in, if budget permits, the ATI FirePro V7750 3-D workstation graphics accelerator, and you’ve got one KILLER desktop. Price tag? Hmmm, a bit spicy at around $1,899 upwards.
