Charlie Miller is again under the spotlight at the Pwn2Own 2009 hacking competition. This year, Safari fell victim to an exploit which at the time of this writing hasn’t been taken care of. The Apple MacBook with an up to date Safari didn’t stand more than a couple of seconds until falling into Miller’s control. Another security researcher nicknamed “Nils” successfully hacked the browser, being the second person to do it.
But not only the Safari browser was hunted down. “Nils” also hacked a Sony Vaio running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8. But not only that, even Firefox couldn’t stand a chance against him. Remember, all these browsers were up to date at the time of the hack.
