The analytics specialized website, Compete, has just released a year end list, of the websites with the largest exponential growth, respectively lowest traffic decrease, on the web in 2007. This small statistics show that the websites that have managed to harness the success of early ‘99 websites, like porn websites, with stylish web 2.0 technology, like YouTube, have made a killing. Just look at 1st and 4th place, both porn websites working on YouTube clone script websites. Websites like Stumbleupon, Linkedin, Reddit or Squidoo have also witnessed a significant increase in traffic, compared to last year; this would basically translate into a social media explosion, that’s sure to perpetuate in 2008 as well. Right on the opposite site, lays the websites that’ve had the misfortune of collapsing, in terms of traffic. Notable sinkers are Bolt, Xanga, Netscape, and Autobytel.
