During the last 3 years, Mozzila, the creator of Firefox has stumbled upon some bumps, things are not so “easy street” for them anymore…
What this means is that as time went by, new competition started to emerge on the market, such as Google Chrome, Safari and a vastly improved Internet Explorer.
Now Firefox has to choose. The new and highly anticipated version of the popular web browser, is due to make it’s release at the end of november, so that version 3.6 can pass the torch onwards.
If only it were this easy. They’re forced now to either extend the release schedule by a couple of months, agravating their fans, or take out some features (which in my opinion is a huge mistake, but, as luck has it, they chose this one).
In order to meet the november deadline, the Mozilla team agreed to leave out the “account manager” feature, so that they can make time to better polish and finish up code for the rest of the browser.
What the account manager does is, well, nothing out the ordinary. You just use it without knowing. It’s the tiny feature in the browser that helps you fill in the tiny boxes when you sign on/up to something, boxes such as id and password. This feature will still be there, but will not be optimised with the rest of the application.
